Asbestos Surveys
In order to accurately ascertain the potential for asbestos in a
building, a comprehensive survey should be conducted. Asbestos surveys are
conducted by accredited professionals to determine the presence, location,
conditions, and estimated quantity of asbestos containing materials (ACM)
in the structure. The survey involves collecting bulk samples samples of
suspect ACM and analyzing the samples. Our final comprehensive report will
typically include recommendations, budgetary cost estimates for remediation (if
needed).
Asbestos Project Management
& Air Monitoring
As part of our comprehensive services, we develop abatement
design and contract specifications, coordinate the bid phase of the project, and
assist in the selection of the abatement contractor (if requested).
Project specifications include safety and health requirements, work area
containment, decontamination facilities, abatement methods with pre-established
performance standards, proper clean-up procedures, and final air clearance
standards.
Air Monitoring is required during abatement or renovation
activities is required to ensure proper work practices by the contractor
during the asbestos removal procedures. Eco-Genesis conducts these
operations to the highest standards for our clients.
Operations and Maintenance
Programs
Once a comprehensive asbestos survey has identified the presence
of asbestos containing materials, an Operational and Maintenance (O&M)
Program should be developed to determine management and/or abatement
options. The principle objective of an O&M program is to minimize
exposure of all building occupants to asbestos fibers. As part of our
services, we typically design and O&M program for a specific facility which
details procedures, policies, and methods to be used by property management
personnel for ongoing maintenance of asbestos containing materials.
